Without further ado...
Today's prompt:
That's what happens when you follow your heart...
This
is the day I have been waiting for since-- well, forever seems like.
After
all the weeks of planning, wondering how it would turn out- I finally know.
It'll
be over soon.
I'm
dressed in white.
The
cold floor chills my bare toes. Or maybe it is because I know what's coming?
The
doors open. Bright light floods in.
He
motions. I lay down.
It'll
only take a second.
Thankfully,
I don't feel the pain. Just tiredness.
"That's
what happens when you follow your heart," he whispers, showing what had
once been in my chest.
Funny.
It still beats.
